Creative Walking in Practice
February 22 – March 22, 2026
A four-week seasonal practice of walking, noticing, and gentle creative response.
What if your walks weren’t about getting somewhere?
What if they were about arriving?
Creative Walking in Practice
This four-week seasonal program invites you to slow down, step outside, and relate to the world with more presence, curiosity, and care.
An Invitation to Walk Differently
Rather than walking to clear your head or accomplish something, this practice offers a different orientation: walking as a way of noticing, listening, and gently reconnecting with your senses and creativity.
This is not about fitness, productivity, or improvement.
It’s about learning how to be with what’s already here.
What This Practice Offers
Over four weeks, you’ll be guided through a series of simple, repeatable walking prompts that invite you to:
-
slow your pace and soften your attention
-
notice ordinary moments with fresh eyes
-
reconnect with your body and senses
-
explore creativity without pressure or performance
-
experience walking as a grounding, nourishing practice
Whether you’re walking through the city or the countryside, there’s always something to notice.
How Creative Walking in Practice Works
Creative Walking in Practice is a gently guided, time-bound program held within a shared group rhythm.
Each week, you’ll receive:
-
one anchor prompt to explore throughout the week
-
one optional companion prompt offering a second way into noticing
These prompts arrive by email on Sundays and Thursdays and can be explored in your own time, at your own pace.
You might walk once or several times a week.
Your walks can be short or long, planned or spontaneous.
There is no falling behind and nothing to keep up with.
The structure is there to support you, not rush you.
The Four-Week Arc
Each week explores a different quality of attention:
Week 1 — Arriving in the Walk
Settling into presence and orientation
Week 2 — Deepening Notice
Refining perception and seeing what’s often overlooked
Week 3 — Creative Relationship
Responding gently through words, images, or shifts in perspective
Week 4 — Integration and Continuity
Letting the practice settle and carrying it forward
What’s Included
-
Guided prompts delivered by email twice per week (one anchor practice and one optional companion practice)
-
Reflective and creative invitations, always optional
-
Access to a private Facebook group for optional sharing and quiet witnessing
-
One optional live closing circle at the end of the four weeks
A Note on Creativity
Creativity here is not about making something impressive. It’s about:
-
paying attention
-
responding honestly
-
letting curiosity lead
-
allowing small moments to matter
Some weeks you might take photos.
Some weeks you might write a few words or make a small rubbing or doodle.
Some weeks you might simply walk and notice.
All of it counts.
Testimonials
“The format is beautifully simple: walk with a prompt and then, if you’d like, share about it.
These prompts became an anchor in my week. They inspired me to observe and explore the beauty around me, whether I was walking through a parking lot or along a favorite trail.
I also loved the sense of connection that emerged as participants shared their walks from around the world.
– Kristin | Vermont, USA
(participant in a longer Creative Walking program)
“Suddenly my world has opened up again and there’s a newfound beauty all around.
Not only does each intention spark inspiration, I love how the community shares their experiences and photos of their vibrant worlds. The creative prompts shine a new energetic light in every step we take outside.”
– Vesna | New York, NY, USA
(Creative Walking Challenge participant)
“This practice gave me a way to ‘retreat’ within my everyday life.
I began seeing new perspectives in familiar surroundings and Marianne’s guidance helped me to reconnect with creative parts of myself that had been dormant.”
– Lindseigh | Langely, BC, Canada
(Creative Walking Challenge participant)
“What a lovely experience!
It changed the way I looked at my everyday, familiar surroundings.
Just focusing on something else for a change made my world a whole lot bigger, and so much more interesting.”

Questions You May Have
When does the program run?
Creative Walking in Practice runs from February 22 to March 22, 2026.
What happens after I sign up?
Once you register, you’ll receive a welcome email with everything you need to begin, including access to the private Facebook group.
Your first prompt will arrive by email on Sunday, February 22 at 9am CET.
Do I need to participate every day or complete everything?
No.
This is not a daily challenge, and there is no expectation to complete every prompt.
You’re welcome to repeat the same prompt, skip a week, or engage lightly when that’s what your energy allows. The structure is there to support you, not to create pressure.
Do I need any experience or special equipment?
No experience is required.
You don’t need special equipment, a particular kind of environment, or a certain level of fitness. A phone, notebook, or camera can be useful, but nothing is required.
This practice works just as well on city streets as it does on countryside paths.
Is this suitable if I’ve done Creative Walking before?
Yes.
Some prompts may feel familiar if you participated in the Year of Creative Walking Tours or earlier challenges. This program draws from the same body of practice, offered in a shorter, seasonal format with a shared cohort.
Many people find that revisiting prompts in a new season or rhythm reveals something different each time.
Is there a community aspect?
Yes, but it’s always optional.
You’ll have access to an optional private Facebook group where participants can share reflections, photos, or creative responses if they wish. You’re also very welcome to simply read and witness.
Quiet presence is just as valued as posting.
And, of course, appropriate footwear for the weather!
Are there live calls?
There are no live weekly calls.
There will be one optional live closing circle at the end of the four weeks, for those who would like to gather and reflect together.
What if I can’t keep up or miss a week?
That’s completely fine.
There is no catching up required. You’re invited to meet the practice where you are, each time you step outside.
I have another question.

Meet Your Guide
Bonjour. I’m Marianne de Kleer, and I live in the French countryside.
Creative walking has become a steady, grounding practice in my own life. It is a way of staying connected to creativity, presence, and the everyday world around me.
Over the years, I have guided many people through simple walking invitations, from short challenges to longer journeys. The work is always centred on noticing, slowing down, and making space for what is already here.
Creative Walking in Practice grows directly out of that work. I will be walking alongside you throughout these four weeks.
If this feels like a good fit, you’re welcome to join.
You will be charged in your currency. You can check out xe.com to calculate the rates in your currency.
